MUSIC SCORES

La casa de nadie Editions

Scores are more than documents of a musical work. They preserve ideas, invite interpretation, and open new possibilities for performance. La casa de nadie Editions brings together editions devoted to contemporary composition, where editorial precision and musical practice meet.

The Score as a Place of Encounter

A musical work does not end with its premiere. It continues through every reading, rehearsal, performance, and new interpretation.

At La casa de nadie Editions, each edition is conceived as part of this ongoing process: not merely as a document, but as a carefully crafted space where composition, performance, and artistic research meet.

La casa de nadie Editions is the publishing imprint of La casa de nadie, dedicated to contemporary music, artistic research, and interdisciplinary practice. Its catalogue brings together scores and editorial projects that move across jazz, contemporary concert music, electroacoustic composition, sound art, and experimental performance.

Each publication begins with the music itself. Whether conceived as a concise performance edition or a complete score, every title is prepared with the same attention to notation, editorial clarity, and graphic design. The aim is not simply to document a work, but to create editions that invite study, rehearsal, performance, and new artistic encounters.

The catalogue includes original compositions, arrangements, performance editions, and research-based publications. Some titles originate in larger concert works, while others are conceived specifically for publication. Together, they document a contemporary compositional practice in which performance, improvisation, and artistic research continuously inform one another.

The current catalogue centres on the work of Ecuadorian composer José Pino, whose music moves between jazz, contemporary composition, electronic music, and sound art. Future publications will gradually expand the catalogue to include works by other composers whose practice resonates with the editorial vision of La casa de nadie Editions.

Scores are rarely still. They travel from screen to instrument, from rehearsal to recording, collecting ideas, annotations, and memories along the way.

Essential Scores

Not every musical idea requires a full score.

Essential Scores is a publishing series dedicated to concise performance editions that preserve the essential identity of a composition while remaining practical for musicians. Each volume distils a work to its core musical elements—melody, harmony, form, and concise performance notes—creating an edition equally suited to study, rehearsal, improvisation, teaching, and the concert stage.

The series brings together works conceived specifically for this format alongside new editions extracted from larger compositions.

Many titles originate in projects for jazz trio, big band, chamber ensemble, or orchestra, where the lead sheet functions not as a reduction but as an autonomous musical document: a score that retains the composer's structural thinking while leaving space for interpretation and performance.

Published in limited editions and designed with particular attention to typography, materials, and visual identity, Essential Scores approaches music publishing as both editorial practice and object design. Every edition is accompanied by an audio recording, offering direct access to the sound world from which the score originates while encouraging performers to develop their own interpretation.
