Ecuadorian roots, Brazil and jazz
The José Pino Trio presents a repertoire of original compositions and arrangements alongside music from Latin America, with a particular focus on Ecuadorian and Brazilian traditions, jazz and improvisation.
Rhythm is central to the trio’s sound, while the compact formation allows written material and improvisation to remain in close dialogue. Different musical traditions enter the repertoire without being folded into a single style.
Led by Pino, the trio reflects his work as a composer and arranger and his longstanding engagement with Brazilian music. Conceived for the stage, the project is available for jazz clubs, festivals and concert series.

Electronic & Electroacoustic
José Pino’s work with electronic sound moves between the rhythmic language of Dudu Alvear and electroacoustic composition under his own name.
As Dudu Alvear, beats, synthesis and coded visuals come together in live sets for clubs and stages. Sound and image are generated and shaped in performance, with rhythm at the centre.
Formats range from pieces for instruments and electronics to audiovisual performance and site-specific installation. Collaborations in multimedia and contemporary dance have opened these materials to other forms of staging and movement.
Pino’s electroacoustic works bring field recordings, analogue synthesis, instruments and code into compositions, performances and installations. Video and real-time processes often enter the same works, connecting sound with image and physical setting.
Projects are available internationally for concerts, festivals, clubs, exhibitions and interdisciplinary programmes.
