Welcome to La casa de nadie
La casa de nadie is an independent cultural platform for art practice and dissemination, based in Zurich.
Founded in 2019, it brings together artists, ideas and practices across disciplines, cultures and geographies. Through creation, research, presentation and dissemination, it provides a context in which artistic practices can develop, connect and circulate.
At its core lies a question of identity.
Nadie — nobody — suggests the possibility of setting one’s name aside for a moment: not to disappear, but to enter a space where identity is no longer a boundary or a claim. A space where distinct perspectives can enter into dialogue and authorship can be reconsidered through encounter.
The ancient echo of Nobody lives quietly within the name, somewhere between presence and absence, the individual and the collective, belonging and displacement.
Each artist brings their own history, language, experience and way of seeing. These differences are not dissolved in the collective; they are what make encounter possible. Through proximity, dialogue and collaboration, artistic practices intersect and influence one another, opening new perspectives and possibilities for creation.
This understanding is closely connected to movement, migration and transcultural experience. Identity is approached not as something fixed, but as something continually shaped by the places we inhabit and leave behind, and by the people, cultures and ideas we encounter along the way.
La casa de nadie is therefore more than a place where art is presented. It is a context for artistic practice — for creating, questioning, sharing and circulating ideas and works.
Projects
Its projects give form to this approach in different ways. They create opportunities to produce and present work, document artistic processes, develop conversations, share knowledge, and enable works and ideas to circulate across spaces and formats.
Rather than existing as separate activities, these projects are interconnected expressions of the same platform. Together, they form an evolving network of artists, practices, works and audiences, rooted in Zurich while reaching beyond geographical boundaries.
Individual voices remain distinct while becoming part of something shared.
